I was very happy to see that Dearborn was hosting an orchid show. I hope they will host a rose show as well.

Dearborn Market to host Dwarf Nigerian Dairy Goat Show

9AM to 5 PM

We are excited to be hosting the local chapter of The Dwarf Nigerian Diary Goat Show at the back of the property on Sunday, June 8th from 9AM to 5 PM. Judging will begin at 9AM and several goats will be on hand for customers to enjoy throughout the day. These charming goats are registered with the American Goat Society and customers can enjoy watching a show that is very similar to a dog show.

Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats are extremely gentle and most people keep them as a companion pet for children. A female doe grows from 19" to 22" at the shoulder and can produce up to 2 quarts of milk per day. The milk may be turned into goat cheese or yogurt that is highly nutritious and favorable. The unusual color of these delightful animals is also a draw as one is never quite sure what color will appear when the "kids" are born.

There will be members from The American Goat Society on hand that can answer your questions about the goats including care, feeding and the possibilities of obtaining a goat to add to your family household.
